1920’s Evinrude Elto (M17253)

Evinrude manufactured a dizzying array of outboard motors in the first half of the 20th century. After merging with Elto (Evinrude Light Twin Outboards), the company that Ole Evinrude started after leaving Evinrude a few years earlier, Evinrude-Elto offered many boat motors, including several twin-cylinder models.

This restored circa-1920s Evinrude Service Twin 2.5hp Boat Motor is a lightweight (40 pounds) outboard motor and was one of the company’s opposed-twin models. This example has been fully restored and is from a collection of antique outboard motors.
